People Coming Together To Brighten The Lives Of Thousands Of Ill Children In The Hospital This Year

Kidzz Helping Kidzz headquarters is buzzing with activity!

Toys from all over Kitsap County, Pierce County and King County are being delivered to us in Bremerton. As of today, we have received 2,421 toys and we are getting calls that more are coming.

Kids from our Advisory Board, parents, and volunteers showed up to our work party today. Each toy was labeled with our Kidzz Helping Kidzz labels which contains our logo and contact information.

After the toys are labeled, they are carefully boxed. Boxing the toys is much harder than it sounds.

Our donated boxes from Costco and St. Michael Medical Center are precious to us and we try to fill them by using all of the space in the box.

Certain toys can be grouped together easily which makes boxing the toys like a puzzle. Those with good visual-spatial skills thrive on this work and have fun creating perfectly organized boxes. Due to space constraints, we need to make sure the boxes can stack on one another.

Here is a picture of what 2,421 toys look like after being boxed. Imagine the joy that the kids who receive these toys will experience.

Today we had two kids under age 10 in charge of labeling the toys. The older kids and adults carefully boxed them.

Our team was incredibly efficient and we finished labeling and boxing over 600 toys in 60 minutes. We averaged 100 toys in just 10 minutes. It was a great team effort.

Here is a video made today in our warehouse by several of the “Kidzz” on the Kidzz Helping Kidzz Advisory Board.

They each picked out a special toy to show off the generosity that’s being given.

Each day we receive calls from members of our community who want to support our Kidzz Helping Kidzz toy drive. Tomorrow we will receive a donation of 200 - 300 Rock ‘N’ Roll Stuffed animal plush toys from The Band Mates shop in Bothell, WA.

They are loading up their car and driving plush stuffed animals over to us here in Bremerton. We also received a call from the Olalla Vineyard and Winery.

They said they were so moved and inspired by Zachary’s story that they decided to make Kidzz Helping Kidzz their November Nonprofit of the month every year starting this year. Very exciting!

They will be donating a portion of their monthly wine sales to Kidzz Helping Kidzz and sharing our Kidzz Helping Kidzz toy drive with their customers.

And, we’re proud to say that we've been selected by The Wynn Group as their primary charity organization this year. They have scheduled some time next week where they’ll bring in their toy donations that they’re collecting from their gracias staff, partners and clients.

There is a special “buzz” and excitement that occurs each year as we work to brighten the lives of kids in the hospital during the holidays.

Whether it is someone who donates toys or a member from our community who takes time out of their busy schedule to volunteer, we are constantly reminded of the kindness and generosity of those around us.

Our Kidzz Helping Kidzz toy drives seem to create joy and excitement not just in giving toys to ill children, but also in forming a sense of community simply by coming together and doing the work.

We are sincerely grateful for those who help make our Kidzz Helping Kidzz toy drives successful.

We look forward to brightening the lives of other kids and families with you!
